Central and Direct Solutions:
CAD Law Chambers is an unincorporated association that door tenants, public access barristers and freelance solicitors are members of to provide their legal services. We are pleased to be able to assist in arranging services of freelance solicitors or instructions to public access barristers as an intermediary.
Barristers can be registered or unregistered, and it is important that you realise and understand the services that different legal representatives can provide. Unregistered barristers may either be retired or in the early stages of their career progression to becoming a barrister who have not yet been called to the bar.
An unregistered barrister can provide some unreserved legal services, however, they cannot provide reserved legal activities unless they are entitled to do so under the Legal Services Act 2007. Under the Legal Services Act certain legal services are reserved to those who are authorised to provide them.
There are particular areas of law defined as 'reserved legal activities', such as Conducting Litigation, Administration of Oaths, Notarial Services, Probate Activities, Conveyancing (Reserved Instrument Activities of preparing any instrument of transfer or charge for the purposes of the Land Registration Act 2002, making an application or lodging a document for registration under that Act), The Exercise of a Right of Audience in the Courts, and Immigration.
We have a range of core practice areas covering a breadth of expertise:
-
Administrative Law
-
Alternative Dispute Resolution
-
Leasehold dwelling disputes
-
Appellate proceedings
-
Civil Law
-
Criminal Law
We can support in arranging guidance and assistance at various stages of disputes. We also provide support in non-contentious matters where alternative dispute resolutions are possible routes to reaching a resolution.
